About Us

A donor, that wishes to remain anonymous, came up with an idea to close the gap in funding for Rainbow Child Care by opening a lady's boutique. It was started in approximately 1998 at the outlet mall off of Old Spanish Trail in Slidell, LA. A small group of volunteers collected donations from local businesses and opened, for the general public to shop, once a quarter. It was called the Rainbow Boutique. After the first year, the Boutique moved to a new location on Gause Blvd. In 2000, a building was built at 881 Robert Road to house offices for 2 local non-profit organizations. My Girlfriend's Closet was born and has remained in the space since its inception. It's located in the building behind Domino's Pizza. My Girlfriend's Closet is an upscale lady's re-sale boutique. It's 100% Volunteer run. The boutique space is provided to us free of charge thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor. The Closet is open for shopping the first full Thursday (10am-7pm), Friday (10am-5pm), Saturday (10am-3pm), & Third Saturday (10am-3pm) of each month. * *Dates and times are subject to change based on holidays, inclement weather, and the availability of volunteers. My Girlfriend's Closet accepts donations of gently worn ladies clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories on the last Thursday of each month. Proceeds from shopping days support the operational and programmatic needs of East St Tammany Rainbow Child Care Center, Inc., a non-profit United Way Partner Agency.
